At the end of XVI Russian Venture Fair and XI Kazan Venture Fair 10 participating companies were selected to take part in the international accelerator. Multimonths - long program for them started with work in Innopolis where the first module was held. In July the finalists will travel to Dublin to study global practices, and in September the teams will appear at the prestigious startup conference TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco.
During the first module held in the Innopolis a special attention was paid to legal issues and registration of internationally recognized patents. Master classes conducted by experts were held and team meeting with personal mentors were put into practice. In particular, Director of law firm branch Gorodissky & Partners in Kazan, Albert Ibragimov, and Artpatent Agency CEO Gregory Busarev taught master classes on the topic of intellectual property legal protection. Anastasia Vitkovskaya, expert in motivation system and corporate culture structuring, tested the teams to determine their management style. Pulsar VC partners, Pavel Korolev and Sergey Mitrofanov, held workshops. Each of the participants had personal talks with a mentor and met with the Fund management.
Let us recall that the accelerator received 378 applications from startups of 37 cities in Russia and from 15 countries. The first qualifying round selected 55 projects of which 10 startups were selected during XVI Russian Venture Fair and XI Kazan Venture Fair.
The accelerator program comprised the projects from Moscow, Kazan, Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Naberezhnye Chelny and St. Petersburg. Each project has received funding from the accelerator, in whole, the organizers invested 50 000 000 roubles in selected projects and plan to invest another 100 000 000 rubles until the end of the program.
The organizers and partners of the accelerator program are in the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, Pulsar Venture Capital, NDRC (which is a known accelerator of Ireland), the Russian venture company, Fund for the Promotion of the Development of Small Businesses in the Sphere of Science and Technology, Enterprise Ireland (Irish state Agency and the third largest seed Fund in the world), as well as a number of leading venture funds of Russia, Europe, USA and Asia.
