ldar Khalikov and Steven Burrill discussed cooperation between international venture fund Burrill & Company and Tatarstan
RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov met with CEO of international venture fund “Burrill & Company” (USA) Steven Burrill in House of RT government.
RT Prime Minister expressed hope that while staying in Tatarstan Mr Burrill examined industrial and economic potential of republic, infrastructure for developing small and medium entrepreneurship and investments.
We remind that Ildar Khalikov and Steven Burrill firstly met on May, 17 in Moscow to discuss cooperation in the sphere of biotechnologies and creation of Tatar-American venture fund in this sector.
Ildar Khalikov noted that Tatarstan is interested in cooperation international venture fund “Burrill & Company” and use of fund’s rich experience in the sphere of venture investment into biotechnologies.
Steven Burrill thanked head of RT government for invitations to visit Tatarstan. He reminded about participation in 14th international economic forum in St. Petersburg (on June, 18-19, 2010) and his visit to Kazan is within limits of his staying in Russia.
Steven Burrill also said that within two days he managed to visit a number of republican enterprises, - IT park, techno park Idea and others. He thinks the companies follow international level and offer perspectives for further development of Tatarstan economy.
By words of Mr Burrill Russia traditionally has rich heritage in scientific sphere and poor one in development of entrepreneurship. He reminded that international venture fund Burrill & Company has 40-year experience in this sphere, particularly in the sphere of biotechnologies. The fund works in Korea, Malaysia, India, Argentina, Brazil and other countries.
Participants of the meeting discussed possibilities of cooperation between Burrill & Company and Republic of Tatarstan in development of biotechnologies. RT Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, Director of GNO “RT Investment venture fund” Ainur Aideldinov attended the meeting.
