More 100 companies filed the applications for participation in the 4th Kazan Venture Fair

Applications for participation in the 4th Kazan Venture Fair were sent not only from the cities of the Republic of Tatarstan, but also from Moscow, Ulyanovsk and other Russian cities.

History of conducting venture fairs in Tatarstan begins in 2005. That particular year of the 1000th Anniversary of Kazan, there was the 1st District Venture Fair in Kazan. The organizers of the event were Russian Venture Capital Association and Technopark “Idea”.

The first fair showed evident interest of venture investors in advanced development of the research teams of Tatarstan. Then it was decided to hold such event every second year. The 2nd District Venture Fair took place in summer 2007. The representatives of the Russian and foreign venture funds, strategic and private investors, representatives of the large corporations, specialists of investment companies, and banks from foreign companies took part in the Fair.

One of the results subsequent to the Fair was official signing of the protocol concerning cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and Russian Venture Capital Association on development of venture financing system and support of innovative entrepreneurship. Then it was taken the decision about giving the Fair regional format and about its annual holding.

In 2008, there was the 3rd Kazan Venture Fair. Over 120 companies from 14 cities of Russia and Tatarstan representing perspective branches of industry took part in the competitive selection.

There are invited representatives of the Russian and foreign venture funds and private equity funds, strategic and private investors, "business-angels", large corporations, specialists of investment companies and banks, legal and consulting organizations, employees of interested ministries and departments of federal and regional levels to participate in the 4th Kazan Venture Fair.

However, sales volume, company age is of no importance; the main thing is that management has ambitions for explosive development of business and entire company, and interest in investment for their realization. Key feature of the Fair is preliminary expertise of the applications from small and medium-sized enterprises, and special training for management and owners of selected companies. Subject of the presentation in the Fair is not production, but business, as a whole. In this connection, much attention is given to the matters of the market, management, and financial projections within the framework of the specialized coaching.

It is planned to involve representatives of regional and federal structures, engaged in development and implementation of the events on support for small and medium-sized business, formation of state policy on attracting investments into the sphere of science-intensive business, in the work of the 4th Kazan Venture Fair. It is also planned participation of the Russian and international financial organizations, institutional investors, and representatives from business community, who are interested in location of investment and establishment of business in Russia, making contacts and improving business contacts with business partners from Tatarstan.

It should be noted that the participants of the 4th Kazan Venture Fair will get the opportunity to take part in the seminar on entrepreneurship development in the sphere of technologies under the auspices of  the Program for Partnership Development of CRDF (American Civilian Research and Development Foundation).
